When I do hear stories like that, it nearly always involves someone in or from Atlanta. So why are there still so many men in Atlanta that hide their sexuality despite being in quite possibly the most gay friendly place not named San Francisco or Brighton? Those two cities also have a reputation for being very gay friendly yet I haven't heard a single story from those cities about a downlow man getting exposed by his fiance or something of that nature. All these gay bars, festivals, hangouts, etc specifically to help people live their truth with others. The city is aware and proud of it's reputation as a gay hotspot. Apparently it's the down-low capital of the world.īut how is that possible and why does things like that even happen so often in that city if they are so open to gays? what's the psychology behind that? It doesn't rationally add up. I've also heard countless stories about women in Atlanta catching their DL fiance or hubby in the act or hearing about it from someone else. This is clearly a hot topic about the city hence why so many people are interested in the city.Īll this being said, there is a known fact about some of these gay men in ATL being in the closet ( on the DL) whilst having wives/gfs and/or acting and dressing all thuggish and hardcore in an attempt to prove their masculinity.
